Type of event:
Let’s take a trip down the wet coast! Exceptional wines from California, Oregon & Washington come from a wide variety of interesting soils and terroir.
Despite the many challenges for wine production in the US, including prohibition, the single state of California has survived and thrived to become the 4th largest producer of wine in the world. Varietals are plentiful, as are wine styles and winemaking techniques. We will taste some delightful subtly oaked Chardonnay, Opimian’s own Californian white blend, some wonderful Cabs, a Zin and a luscious Meritage.
Willamette Valley is known for its Burgundian style Pinot Noirs with nuanced and subtle freshness of cranberries and the depth of earth. Tonight’s example will not disappoint. Naches Heights is one of Washington States’ newest wine growing regions with
unique volcanic soils and grapes growing at high elevations. This evening we will taste one of their heavenly dry Rieslings.
The wines from this event are aligned with C252, open for ordering from August 11 to September 15, 2017.
