Community Reporters Wanted to Cover Culture Days!

Are you a journalist, blogger or a writer looking for fun new opportunities to reach a wider audience across Canada and beyond?Culture Days is the chance you’ve been waiting for!

Experienced writers in all provinces, from small towns to big urban centres are welcome to apply. You will need to attend a minimum of 5 diverse Culture Days activities and write about your experience and Culture Days' impact on the hosting artists and organizations, participants and the community that the activities are taking place in.

Avast all seafaring veggies!  Captain Elkin and First Mate Bossy Pants are

looking for a fearless vegetarian to captain a ship made of vegetables, a crew of

swashbuckling tubers and greens, a salty dog, a nautical narrator, and a large

fish with an enormous appetite.  Plus, a host of other oceangoing characters.  

They will set sail on The Vegetable Ship’s maiden stage voyage at NACC

January 2014.

NACC Season Passes Now Available

We are jazzed to launch the 29th season at the Northern Arts and Cultural Centre! This year's program is sure to amaze & delight. Starting this week, we are rolling out many improvements to your favourite theatre experience.  

 

Here is a sneak peek at what is new this year:

- The NACC Candle Ice Cafe, serving an enticing selection of wine, beer and cheese trays 

- Nightly pre-show events in the lobby for NACC ticket holders, with an exciting line-up of local artists

PREMIERE BROADCAST OF ARCTIC MOSQUE: THE MOVIE

ARCTIC MOSQUE is the story of a little mosque that makes an epic journey across Canada to the Canadian Arctic.

 

It will air on CBC Manitoba, SATURDAY, AUGUST 3rd, 2013 at 7:00 PM, as part of the "Absolutely Manitoba" summer documentary series.

What's up at the museum in July

Summer programming at the museum begins next week with guided tours, atlatl throwing, and cultural films on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons.

Ramble and Ride Call for Musicians

It is that time of year again and the organizers of the Old Town Ramble and Ride are seeking interest from musicians and performers for the annual festival.

The Ramble and Ride is a festival put on by the businesses, artists and musicians of Old Town. Specifically, it is a chance for all Yellowknifers to ramble (walk) and ride (bike) down the hill to take in Old Town’s unique character and culture. The goal is to hold an eco-friendly festival that allows every member of Old Town to promote their business or talent through a variety of events.
