Yellowknife Reads: Call for Panelists

The library is looking for four avid readers who are passionate about reading and debating to participate in a battle to determine the book that makes us the proudest to be Canadian.

Yellowknife Reads will take place on October 15, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in the library meeting room.

Please email if you are interested in defending a book (include your proposed book title) or would like to nominate someone from the community.


(YELLOWKNIFE, NT - June 23, 2015) NWT Pride is proud to announce the theme for our 2015 festival, “Free To Be”. 


“Free To Be” is about recognizing everyone’s right to be who they want to be and love who they want to love without judgement. The NWT Pride festival celebrates our individuality and our differences. We aim to create a place that promotes visibility for all of our diverse communities. This year we are recognizing every individual’s right to act, speak, and think freely.


ICE RAGE - TV Game Show Info

Each Team has 4 players & selects their team name - Each Team selects a Team Captain - The Captain selects which players play in each round - 4 Teams will compete head to head. The team with the most points at the end of the game advances to the “Final Showdown” competing against the other winning teams in each Show. - There are 4 rounds of questions. Each round is 5 questions long. The 4 Categories are Yellowknife trivia, Pop Culture, Music & The Mystery Round. The mystery round may include sports, math, kids questions or just all out random questions. It will be all a surprise.

Do you want to be a part of an awesome festival and get the chance to meet incredible authors while also helping promote Northern writing? We're looking for folks to work the door at events, help set up and take down, drive authors to where they need to go and even help stage manage.
